Policies

Data storageRaw data and analyses are temporarily stored for 30 days. Requestors are solely responsible for permanent data storage and backup all pertinent files.

Confidentiality. All data shared with the DCBC is kept confidential, and will only be sent to the PI or a person he/she designates. Data and analysis results are never discussed with anyone not associated with the project.

Authorship. Authorship is not required for standard analyses, but we ask investigators to adhere to the standard practice of acknowledging Core services in peer-reviewed publications or grant proposals. Semi-custom / custom analyses are subject to authorship inclusion. If substantial intellectual contributions are required in data analysis, interpretation and/or manuscript writing are requested, co-authorship should be granted to the Core personnel involved.

Visibility. The DCBC should be mentioned in the acknowledgments when data analyses at the core are submitted for publishing.

Prioritization of Work. Priority is given to DC members. Standard analyses have priority over custom analyses. Projects are prioritized on a first come first serve basis. If needed the projects will be rearranged based on investigator deadlines. In certain situations, delays can happen and the PI will be notified.
